November Working Bee WILL be Held

The forecast maximum temperature for tomorrow (Saturday, 2 November) of 35 degrees C would normally cause cancellation of the working bee, but, on this occasion, we propose to continue with the activity and to review the situation at morning tea time. The reason is that Robyn has discovered that the threatened species planted earlier in the year are under severe stress from lack of water. She has already watered some of them, but needs help to water the remainder and that will be the prime objective of the working bee. Robyn will be starting earlier than our usual 9.00 am start time and, if you can start earlier, contact her to let her know. Otherwise, meet at the usual time. If you have a water container of 10 litres or so and/or a bucket, please bring it along.

It will get hot as the morning progresses, so, if you don't feel comfortable working in these conditions, do not feel under any obligation to do so.

November Working Bee in Doubt

While Saturday's working bee is very likely to be cancelled, due to the current maximum temperature forecast of 35 degrees C, Robyn is concerned that this year's threatened species plantings in the park are drying out and are in danger of dying if they do not get some water very soon. She watered some of them early this morning and is calling for anyone who can help her to water the remainder early on Saturday morning to get in touch with her.

It will be left until tomorrow (Friday) evening to decide whether the working bee can go ahead and you will be advised by email of the decision. If the decision is to cancel, we'll see if it can be rescheduled for the following Saturday, 9 November.
