2 December Working Bee
The next working bee in Shepherds Hill Recreation Park, and the last for the year, will be on Saturday, 2 December. Meet in the Ayliffes Road car park at 8.50 am or at the work site. We'll be working on woody weeds on the slope to the south of the Ridge Track. The trailer will be south of the Ridge Track near the tree line.
As advised separately, the working bee will be followed by our annual Christmas lunch, kindly hosted by Bernie and Jill at their home from about 1pm. Jill has undertaken to purchase and cook all the meat and attendees are asked to make a monetary contribution towards the cost and to bring along your drinks and glasses and an h'ors d'oeuvre, salad, sweet or cake to share. It promises to be a great occasion.
And, for those attending the Blackwood Christmas Pageant on Friday, 1 December, don't forget to meet in Gulfview Road, Blackwood at 5.30 pm to help decorate the trailer.

4 November Working Bee
The next working bee in Shepherds Hill Recreation Park will be on Saturday, 4 November. Meet at the Ayliffes Road car park at 8.50 am or at the work site. We will continue to work on woody weeds on the slope to the south of the Ridge Track. The trailer will be located to the south of the Ridge Track near the tree line.

We'll be working on woody and other weeds on the slope to the south of the Ridge Track. The trailer will be located on the southern side of the Ridge Track near the tree line.

14 October Working Bee (postponed from 7 Oct)
The next working bee in Shepherds Hill Recreation Park will be on Saturday, 14 October. Meet at the Ayliffes Road car park at 8.50 am or at the work site. We'll be returning to the triangle area to continue to work on woody weeds in the creek line to the east of the archery and on tangier pea and topped lavender in the creek line towards Watiparingga and on the slope to the south of the triangle. The trailer will be located at the track junction near the ford.

16 September Working Bee
The next working bee in Shepherds Hill Recreation Park will be on Saturday 16 September. Meet in the Ayliffes Road car park at 8.50 am or at the work site. We'll be working in the southern part of the park on bridal creeper and woody weeds. The trailer will be located on the Sewer Easement Track near the point where the Grey Box Loop crosses the creek.

We will continue to work on woody weeds in the creek line to the east of the archery area and on herbaceous weeds in the creek line between the ford and the Wattiparinga boundary. The trailer will be located at the head of the triangle near the ford.

Meet in the Ayliffes Road car park at 8.50 am or at the work site.We'll return to the head of the triangle to continue to work on woody weeds in the creek line to the east of the archery and on false caper, tangier pea and nasturtium in the creek line between the Wattiparinga boundary and the ford. The trailer will be located at the track junction near the ford.

Celebrate the start of the New Financial Year and take out your taxation frustrations on some woody weeds. The next working bee in Shepherds Hill Recreation Park will be held on Saturday, 1 July. Meet at the Ayliffes Road car park at 8.50 am or at the work site. We'll return to the triangle area to continue the removal of olive regrowth and seedlings and other woody weeds, and cutting and swabbing scabious and plantain near the rocky outcrops.

3 June Working Bee
The next working bee in Shepherds Hill Recreation Park will be on Saturday, 3 June. Meet at the Ayliffes Road car park at 8.50 am or at the work site. We'll be returning to the southern side of the Ridge Track to continue the control of olives and other woody weeds. In addition, Robyn will take a small number of people with her to plant some dozen or so, Australian Hollyhocks in the creek line near the Sewer Easement Track at the bottom of the hill.
The trailer will be located near the tree line on the southern side of the Ridge Track.

20 May Working Bee
The next working bee in Shepherds Hill Recreation Park will be on Saturday, 20 May. Meet at the Ayliffes Road car park at 8.50 am or at the work site. The major activity will be to weed the area around Maggie's Seat and to plant some small shrubs and grasses to enhance the area around the seat. An additional activity will be to patrol the plantings on the western side of the Ridge Track for woody weeds such as olive seedlings and regrowth, dog rose and boneseed and other undesirables like wild artichoke.
The trailer will be located on the Ridge Track near Maggie's Seat.

6 May Working Bee
The next working in Shepherds Hill Recreation Park will be on Saturday, 6 May. Meet at the Ayliffes Road car park at 8.50 am or at the work site. We'll be returning to the triangle area to deal with scabious and plantain (by cutting and swabbing) and olive seedlings (by hand pulling or cutting under the lignotuber) and regrowth (by cutting under the lignotuber where possible or drilling and filling). The trailer will be located at the point of the triangle near the ford.

22 April Working Bee
The next working bee in Shepherds Hill Recreation Park, deferred from 15 April because of Easter, will be held on Saturday 22 April. Meet at the Ayliffes Road car park at 8.50 am or at the work site. We're returning to the triangle area to continue cutting and swabbing scabious and also removing weeds close to the Endangered Variable Glycine. The trailer will be located at the point of the triangle near the ford over the Wattiparringga Creek.

1 April Working Bee.... No, this is not a joke
The next working bee in Shepherds Hill Recreation Park will be on Saturday 1 April. Meet at the Ayliffes Road car park at 8.50 am or at the work site. We plan to continue our assault on the olives and other woody weeds on the southern side of the Ridge Track and the trailer will be located in the usual place off the track near the tree line.
Note that, as our following working bee would occur during the Easter weekend, we have decided to defer it until the following Saturday, 22 April.

With the prospect of cooler weather, the next working bee in Shepherds Hill Recreation Park, postponed from 4 March, will be held on Saturday, 11 March. Meet at the Ayliffes Road car park at 8.50 am or at the work site. We'll be returning to the southern side of the Ridge Track to continue the control of olives and other woody weeds. The trailer will be located on the southern side of the Ridge Track near the tree line.

February Working Bee & Committee Meeting
The first working bee for 2017 in Shepherds Hill Recreation Park will be held on Saturday, 4 February. Meet at the Ayliffes Road car park at 8.50 am. The main target will be scabious regrowth, to be cut and swabbed, in an area of the triangle which has previously been treated by our contractor. There are also woody weeds, such as olives, ash and broom, to be hand-pulled, drilled and filled or cut and swabbed as appropriate, in the creekline to the east of the archery. The trailer will be located at the track junction near the ford.
The working bee will be followed at about 12.30 by a Committee Meeting at Robyn's home.
Note also that the Friends of Shepherds Hill AGM will be held at the Eden Hills Uniting Church Hall at 7.30pm on Wednesday, 8 February.
Agenda for the Committee Meeting and AGM will be provided in the next day or so.

2017 Annual General Meeting Notice
The 17th Annual General Meeting of the Friends Of Shepherds Hill Recreation Park will be held at the Eden Hills Uniting Church Hall, Willora Road, Eden Hills on Wednesday, 8 February after a general meeting commencing at 7.30 pm. Agenda for the meetings and minutes of the previous meetings will be available here.
