We will continue to work on woody weeds to the south of the Ridge Track. The trailer will be located to the south of the Ridge Track near the tree line.
Note that road works are currently under way on the entrance to the Ayliffes Road car park which, if not completed by Saturday, could prevent access to the park from Ayliffes Road. If that is the case, we will meet at our alternative meeting point in Mill Terrace off Shepherds Hill Road on the southern side of the Women's Memorial Playing Fields to determine the best course of action.

July Working Bee
The next working bee in Shepherds Hill Recreation Park will be on Saturday, 7 July. Meet in the Ayliffes Road car park at 8.50 am or at the work site at 9.00 am. The main objective is to plant the remaining 90 odd trees on the slope to the south of the Ridge Track and then, if time permits, to continue treating weeds in that area. The trailer will be located near the tree line to the south of the Ridge Track.
The roadworks which prevented entry to the park from Ayliffes Road on our last working bee should now be well and truly completed so there should be no problem entering the park. However, as a result of that experience, Mill Terrace, off Shepherds Hill Road at the southern end of the Women's Memorial Playing Fields, has been selected as an alternative meeting place in the unlikely event that access from Ayliffes Road is not possible. This alternative meeting place will enable us to meet and decide how best to proceed.

June Working Bee #1
We are not having a lot of luck lately, the working bee for 2 June was cancelled and because of the inclement conditions forecast for 16 June, the next working bee in Shepherds Hill Recreation Park is now re-scheduled for Saturday, 23 June.
Meet in the Ayliffes Road car park at 8.50 am or at the work site. With the recent rain and the rain expected during the rest of the week, we hope there will be enough moisture in the soil to plant our trees for the year and for them to have a good chance of survival through the next summer. Our plan is to plant an additional 60 or so trees in and around those we planted last year to close off the short-cut track between the Ridge and Viaduct Tracks near the pony club and the other 100 or so trees on the slope to the south of the Ridge Track. The trailer will be located initially near the short-cut track and will then move to the tree line south of the Ridge Track.
