December Working Bee
The next working bee in Shepherds Hill Recreation Park, and the last for the year, will be on Saturday, 6 December. Meet at the Ayliffes Road car park at 8.50 am or at the work site. We will be targeting broom and other woody weeds in the triangle area and the adjacent creek line. The trailer will be located at the junction of the Viaduct and Ridge Tracks near the ford over the creek.
The working bee will be followed by an end of year BBQ at Robyn's place. So bring your own picnic chair and drinks plus a salad, sweet or cake to share. Robyn will provide meat and bread.
For those participating in the Blackwood Christmas Pageant, don't forget that it will be held the day before the working bee on Friday, 5 December, commencing at 6.30 pm in Gulfview Road, Blackwood.
There will be no working bee in January. The next one will be on Saturday, 7 February 2015.

November Working Bee
The next working bee in Shepherds Hill Recreation Park will be on Saturday, 1 November. Meet at the Ayliffes Road car park at 8.50 am or at the work site. We will continue to work on woody weeds in the southern end of the park in the creek line just to the north of the Sewer Easement Track. The trailer will be located on the Sewer Easement Track near the weed front.
Note that the last working bee, on 18 October was the last working bee for the year on the third Saturday of the month. The next working bee after this one will be on Saturday, 6 December.

October Working Bee #2

We'll continue to work in the creek line just to the north of the Sewer Easement Track in the south of the park where we left off at our last working bee. The trailer will be located on the Sewer Easement Track near the weed front.

We will continue to work on the weeds on the southern side of the Ridge Track. The trailer will be located on the Ridge Track about 50 metres east of the junction with the Walkers Creek Track.

August Working Bee #2
The next working bee at Shepherds Hill Recreation Park will be on Saturday, 16 August. Meet at the Ayliffes Road car park at 8.50 am or at the work site. We'll be continuing our attack on the weeds on the slope to the south of the Ridge Track. The trailer should be about half way between the junction with the Walkers Creek Track and where it was last time.

We will continue to work on olives and other weeds on the southern side of the Ridge Track. The trailer will be located on the Ridge Track between the junction with the Walkers Creek Track and the rocky outcrop on the top of the ridge.

The next working bee at Shepherds Hill Recreation Park will be on Saturday, 19 July. Meet at the Ayliffes Road car park at 8.50 am or at the work site. We'll be working on olives and other weeds on the south-facing slope to the south of the Ridge Track where we were last time. The trailer will be located on the Ridge Track on the top of the hill about midway between the junction of the Ridge and Walkers Creek Tracks and the rocky outcrop on the top of the hill.

June Working Bee #2
Our next working bee will be on Saturday, 21 June. Meet at the Ayliffes Road car park at 8.50 am or at the work site.
We'll be working on olives and other weeds amongst the Grey Box and other natives on the southern side of the Ridge Track. The trailer will be located near the junction of the Walkers Creek and Ridge Tracks.
During the morning a tree planting ceremony will be held to commemorate former member Geoff Wilson.
Trees For Life will be holding one-day Bush Regeneration Workshops at Brooklyn Park on Friday, 4 July and Mitcham Hills on Wednesday, 23 July. These workshops are highly recommended as they provide an excellent introduction to bushcare principles and techniques, and the basics of safe chemical handling. New members are encouraged to enrol for one of these workshops.

June Working Bee
Our next working bee will be on Saturday, 7 June. Meet at the Ayliffes Road car park at 8.50 am.
Despite some recent heavy showers, the Viaduct Track in from the car park has not washed out any more and is navigable. We'll be working near Maggie's Seat on the Ridge track. We have about 50 trees to plant amongst the olives and, when that's done, there are olives, scabious and plantain to work on. The trailer will be located on the level ground near Maggie's Seat.

Our next working bee will be on Saturday, 17 May. Meet at the Ayliffes Road car park at 8.50 am or at the work site. We'll be planting trees amongst the olives on the slope to the north of the Ridge Track. The trailer will be located on the Ridge Track on the top of the hill a little to the east of the rocky outcrop.

February Working Bee - It's On!
Well, third time lucky, perhaps. With cooler weather forecast for Saturday, 15 February, we hope finally to get our February working bee done! UPDATE:
While the rain over the last two days is wonderful, it has made the track in from Ellis Avenue too slippery to get the trailer in to the Sewer Easement Track. The working bee location has therefore been changed to the Ridge Track near Maggie's Seat and the adjacent rocky outcrop.

February Working Bee - postponed again
Due to the very high temperature forecast for Saturday, 8 February, the working bee has been cancelled. If the forecast for Saturday, 15 February is more clement, the working bee may be rescheduled for that date, in which case further advice will be provided early next week.

February Working Bee
Our first working bee for the year was to have been on Saturday 1 February, but, due to the extreme high temperature forecast for that day, the working bee has been postponed to Saturday 8 February. Details will be provided early next week.
A Committee meeting, which was to have been held after the working bee, to review management issues prior to the AGM, has been brought forward and will be held at Robyn Guy's home at 9.00am on Saturday, 1 February. Interested members are welcome to attend. The agenda will be provided to committee members in a separate email.
